Choose summer jersey for the garment, opacity and care performance rather than fibre name alone.
Begin with the design
A summer T-shirt, fitted top and loose dress have different needs. Define shape, drape and handle before comparing cotton, viscose and fabrics sold as bamboo.
Compare samples side by side
Assess stretch and drape under the same conditions. Ask for full compositions: fibre names do not specify knit construction, thickness or finishing.
Check light-colour opacity
Inspect the intended colour against light and while stretched, including seams. Test the garment before increasing weight or adding a lining, because both can change drape.
Plan seasonal production
Approve a washed sample and estimate consumption per garment. Give the required delivery date, colour and quantity; confirm production timing before launching collection sales.
